  • General Info

    CHECKED BAGGAGE AND CARRY-ON BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE

    All passengers embarking at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be allowed :-

    1. Kindly make sure luggage is properly tagged with luggage tag for easy identification.Each passenger is only allowed to take two pieces of checked baggage,not exceeding 23KG each for economy class .

    2. Airlines in Malaysia will enforce the “One passenger one piece of hand luggage “ rule for all flight have to measure 56CM X 36CM X 23CM in size not exceed 7KG.

    The Carry-On Baggage will undergo a 100 per cent check by the security personnel at boarding gates and passengers with excess luggage will be required to check-in their luggage again. Please take note, failure to comply with this rule may result in flight delays or passengers being disallowed from entering the aircraft. Under the new ruling, the following list of items are not permitted into the cabin (for hand luggage) of the aircraft:-

    Toy or replica guns (plastic or metal), Catapults, Household cutlery, knives with blades of any length, Paper knives, Razor blads, Tradesmen’s tools, Darts, Scissors and Nail Clippers, Hypodermic Syringes (will be allowed if passenger can produce documents from doctor for medical need on board the aircraft), Knitting Needles, Sporting Bats, Billiard or Snooker or Pool Cues, all Sharp and Pointed

    Objects.

    • Liquids, aerosols and gels taken on-board planes as hand luggage must be in containers no bigger than100ml (milliliters). This includes drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste, lipstick, lip balm and similar substances that you can pour, spray or smear.

    • These containers must be sealed comfortably in a one liter transparent plastic re-sealable bag (for example 20CM X 20CM or 15CM X 25CM).

    • Passengers will only be able to carry one of these transparent bags each.

    • Liquids, aerosols and gels larger than 100ml, including duty-free, will need to be surrendered by the passenger at security screening points. Surrendered items will be destroyed.

    ENTRY FORMALITIES

    Malaysian must carry a Malaysian International Passport with a valid of more than six months from the date of departure and a valid

    visa . Upon arrival, visitors will be asked to produce their valid International Passport, a completed incoming passenger card and return passage ticket.

    PROHIBITED ITEMS INTO USA

    The importation of endangered species or animals and plants, animal products, meat, food and plant material is subject to certain restrictions and formalities. You are not allowed to carry a weapon, such as a firearm or mace or any other spray (pepper spray) to be used against humans, for self-defence.

    COMMON ITEMS THAT MUST BE DECLARED

    • meat and meat products;

    • cream, milk, cheese and other dairy products;

    • plants, trees, cut flowers and their soil (may require an import permit);

    • wood and wood products;

    • vegetables (may require an import permit);

    • pets, birds and other live animals (require an import permit or vaccination documentation);

    • feathers and down;

    • seeds and nuts; and

    • baby formula.

    Keep in mind that items brought into USA need to be free of pests, soil and roots. In addition, proof of the product's country of origin may be required.

     PENALTIES & FREE CONFISCATION

    Failure to declare restricted and prohibited food, plant and animal goods may result in penalties , permanent seizure of goods and in some cases, criminal prosecution. 

    If you are unsure about an item, ask the Border Services Officer. If you declare a prohibited item, it will be confiscated without penalty to you.

    DRUGS FOR MEDICAL USE
    Prescription drugs should be clearly identified and should be carried in the original packaging with a label that specifies both what they are and that they are being used under prescription. It is also a good idea to bring a copy of your prescription and a contact number for your doctor.

    Diabetics and others who have to bring syringes with them should also carry some evidence of their need for using these.

    CURRENCY

    Passengers are recommended to bring US dollar for your convenience. Malaysia Ringgit are not acceptable in  USA. Major international credit cards are accepted.

    Sixteen hours behind Malaysia.

    ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE

    The voltage used is 100 - 127 volts. You can purchase a converter at most hardware stores.
